Snapfulfil has been recognised for its potential to grow, in a competition run as part of a UK business support programme called Coaching for High Growth.
They impressed the judges with their potential performance and growth prospects, beating off stiff competition from a total of 27 other entries to win the One to Watch award, in recognition of the business on the programme which has greatest growth potential for the future and was made runner up in the Business of the Year category, which recognised the business that has made most progress during its year on the programme.
The company has over the last 12 months taken part in the Coaching for High Growth scheme, which aims to help ambitious businesses in the East Midlands to expand their company through a tailored package of intensive coaching. The initiative is majority funded by East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and run by Melton-Mowbray-based innovation and support organisation Pera.
Between 2005 and 2009 the coaching programme has helped more than 240 companies to achieve and sustain growth, creating or safeguarding more than 1000 jobs across the region and has boosted the East Midlands economy by more than £66m (Gross Value Added).
Mark Darley-Usmar, MD of Synergy Logistics received the One to Watch award trophy and the Business of the Year runner up certificate in a recent presentation from emda’s business support team manager, Sumeet Kanwar, and the MD of Pera’s training and consulting division, Richard Grice, in front of the 23-strong workforce at the company’s office on Lisle Street.
Mr Darley-Usmar, MD of Synergy Logistics stated: “We are hugely proud to win the One to Watch award and also be the runner up in the Business of the Year awards. We have really benefited from Pera’s support with their one to one coaching and master classes, which has given us the confidence and tools to put a structured growth plan in place to help realise our full potential. We are targeted to increase our business turnover by a further 20 percent this year to £2.2m, and continue with recruitment to meet these demands by at least ten new members of staff by 2012. The Coaching for High Growth programme has been a pivotal moment in the development of our business and will ensure we maximize our UK and global opportunities.”
Sumeet Kanwar, emda’s business support team manager added: “Synergy’s high quality entry stood out as the One to Watch winner as they will clearly go on to do great things in the future. They have spotted a niche in their market and have an ambitious but achievable business plan to expand their business. The company shows huge potential for growth – which can only be good news for the Leicestershire and East Midlands economy and job market. I’m sure Synergy Logistics along with the other companies taking part this year will continue to do their bit to contribute to the £66m which has already been added to the regional economy through Coaching for High Growth to date.”
Richard Grice, MD of the training and consulting division at Pera said: “Pera has managed the Coaching for High Growth programme for the last six years, and it continues to go from strength to strength as can be seen by Synergy Logistic’s success in our awards, along with that of the other participants. It proves that strong businesses can buck the trend and continue to flourish and grow, despite the challenges of the current economic climate. The concept is a simple one – to match Pera’s specialised growth coaches to participating companies based on their area of expertise and learning style. All this adds up to highly effective, targeted training for each of the 50 organisations participating in the 2010-11 programme.”
